LTC's 2014

New Year's Day Quickie Swap 2014:
Simply a Rose
Quick fun and easy on a very cold winter day.
January 2014 Retired

Valentine's Day: Letter of Love
When my husband and I were first married he got orders from the USMC to go to Okinawa, Japan. At first I wasn't able to join him, so there was a lot of letter writing between us. This was long before people actually used cell phones or even made phone calls back to the USA (it costed a lot). No Skype for us back then. In our letters we would write.. "I love you...yesterday, and today, and forever and for always. Many cards were mailed too and they mostly were of Roses.
These LTC's are made in honor of all those letters we wrote so long ago.

Brach's Conversation Hearts
Just a fun carve and LTC,
when it was so very cold outside.
January 2014 Retired

Optical Illusions: Abstract background
I'm sure if I had took my time and not carved this in 20 minutes that it would have looked a bit better.  But I was stress carving.  Well I was stressing so decided to carve.  LOL

Funny Animals: Funny Bunny
Fun and easy stamp to carve and good use of extra ribbon and paper around the house.  Used water color for the grass and didn't clean up the stamp for that extra look.
Not sure what look, but I like it.
March 2014 Retired

Alphabet LTC:
O is for Oak
The bigger stamp is my hubby's siggy stamp.
The smaller stamp I carved just to add to this
LTC. It's true the acorn is tiny and the Oak
tree is mighty.

 Your first carve:
KOI
This little Koi was my first carve.
Airstream Dreams showed me how to carve.
We were baby AQ's then and just learning the hobby.
September 2014

CATS:
The look of love
This is a two sided stamp.  It was a stuggle for me.
Hats off to those of you that have this art form down pat.

All Hallows Eve:
You scared Me!
I stamped this on yellow paper and
then colored in the orange for a more
 sun-setting scary look.
October 2014 (retired)

Choices
You are free to make whatever choice you want,
but you are not free from the consequences of the choice.
I carved the words and the directional sign awhile back.
Decided to make a few ltc's quick and fun to make.
November 2014

Just the Stamp:
Arthur aka Wart
Not all of the stamp will fit on the size of an ltc.
If you would like to see the full stamp,
you can see it in the description at AQ#247584

LTC's 2011, 2012 & 2013

In the year of 2011 I made one LTC.
Hmmm... not sure what I was doing other than AQ and letterboxing.

Disney Villains LTC: Jafar
This stamp was carved by my son
swofromtherock and it was the only LTC and swap that I joined all year.
September 2011

Year of 2012

 Coffee Time: Tricia's Espresso
These were made for the Coffee Time swap.
I work at Tricia's part-time and love to make coffee and I love working at Tricia's.  The coffee cup is their logo.
January 2012 Retired

FB Games you play: Farmville XP
I'm not really sure what I was going for on this LTC.  Quick and simply and used a new carving material that I did not like and it is probably one of my most simply LTC's ever made.
April 2012 Retired

Song Bird
These were actually made while sitting in a McDonalds while my husband was working nearby.
The stamp is the bird and the rest is hand drawn and colored in with colored pencils.  When you have lots of time on your hands you can come up with ideas and of course lots of coffee helped.
May 2013

Port City
My husband loves Port City Java Coffee way more than I think he should.  LOL so I made this LTC from their logo.
November 2013

These are the only 5 LTC's that I made in three years.  In those three years was two wedding in the family and our first grand baby was born.
Maybe that is why only 5 were made.

LTC's 2010

Under the Sea: See under the Sea
I have used this turtle stamp on a few LTC's and it never gets old.  The card looks better than this picture of it.  The grass in the background is also a stamp carved to give the sea grass look.
January 2010 Retired

the cheese shop
In Williamsburg, VA they have the best little cheese shop in Merchants Square.  This LTC is carved from their logo and has the names of some of our favorite cheeses.  Yellow ribbon on the side.
April 2010 Retired

the dog house
We have a great little hotdog place in town called the dog house and this LTC was made because it's just a nice place to eat.
April 2010 Retired

Old Fashioned Candy Barrel:
Atomic Fireballs
This was not my best carving, but the fireballs are good and hot!
May 2010 Retired

Farmville! Farmville Cash
Everybody wanted Farmville Cash! This was a fun care to make.  The stamp was carved out of the Moo carving material and it was a mess to color with markers, but in the end it turned out okay.
May 2010 Retired

Colonial Williamsburg:
Printing & Post Office
These were done for the Postal Colonial Williamsburg and
I made LTC's to mail along with my postal.

Historic Covered Bridges:
Meem's Bottom-Mount Jackson, VA
The longest remaining covered bridge in Virginia, 200 feet in a single span supported by the burr arch, it was built by Franklin H. Wissler in 1892-93. It is Virginia's only covered bridge open to vehicular traffic.
This was a hard one to ink because of all the many colors.
                          January 2009  Retired

Classic Games: Yahtzee
The dice, the word Yahtzee and the blue cup are all stamps.  I stamped the blue cup and cut it out and glued it onto the card.  Then I stamped the word Yahtzee and the dice with embossing ink.  It was a few extra steps to put this LTC together to look like the box top of the game Yahtzee.
January 2009 Retired

Go Guard!
Simple and quick.  My two older boys were both in the National Guard.  My daughter in law is still in the National Guard this is to honor them and their service.

Feathery: Off to Chatham
My youngest son has a great imagination and this is where "Chatham" comes from.  When he was younger he was always writing stories about his fortress and it's people.  This stamp was carved for the feather swap and to honor his great imagination.

The flag and the pole are two different stamps that I carved to make this LTC.  I used watercolor crayons for the background.
July 2009 Retired

Sail Away
The boat, the puffs of wind and the clouds are the 3 stamps that make up this LTC.  The boat was stamped and cut out then glued on the LTC to make it look more like it was actually on the water.
July 2009 Retired

Morning Song
This bird was suppose to be a little bit bigger.  See where its foot and body kinda meet?  Well I accidentally carved part of it's belly off so instead got a smaller bird.  Really like this LTC with the torn paper.
July 2009 Retired

Recycled Holiday Cards: Snowy Night
I free handed this image, not my best drawing.  Still not too good at carving stars, so not sure why I put so many in this image.  Used Christmas cards that we had received from the year before.
October 2009

Bits and Pieces: Winter Fun
Using up some of those small leftover pieces of carving material to make this LTC.  Snow boot, hand throwing a snowball and a snowman.
